Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

This policy explains what information BookRidesinLA collects when you book a ride or contact us, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It is written to describe what our booking system actually does, rather than to cover every eventuality in the abstract.

1Who we are

BookRidesinLA is a chauffeur and car service operating in Los Angeles and Southern California. In this policy β€œwe”, β€œus” and β€œour” refer to BookRidesinLA; β€œyou” refers to anyone who books a ride, creates an account, or contacts us.

If you have a question about this policy or about your information, contact us at admin@bookridesinla.com or on (818) 200-7542.

2What we collect

We collect only what a ride actually requires:

  • Your name, email address and phone number, so we can confirm the booking and reach you on the day.
  • Pickup and drop-off addresses, the date and time, passenger count, and any special requests you add.
  • Your flight number, if you give one, so we can track the flight and adjust your pickup.
  • Payment details, which are entered directly into Stripe and are never stored on our systems β€” we keep only a payment reference and whether the booking is paid.
  • If you create an account, your sign-in details are held by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your password.
  • Basic technical information your browser sends, such as IP address, used to keep the service secure and to limit abuse of our booking and contact forms.

We do not collect location data from your device, and the driver app does not track drivers’ locations.

3How we use it

To arrange and carry out the ride you booked: pricing it, confirming it, assigning a chauffeur, and giving that chauffeur the details they need to collect you.

To contact you about a booking β€” confirmations, changes, cancellations, and a request for a review afterwards.

To take payment, through Stripe.

To keep the service working and secure: rate limiting, fraud prevention, and diagnosing faults.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

4Who else sees it

We use a small number of processors, each for one purpose:

  • Stripe β€” payment processing. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Google Firebase β€” account sign-in, if you create an account.
  • Google Maps Platform β€” address autocomplete and driving distances, used to price and route your trip.
  • Our email provider β€” to send booking confirmations and notify our office.
  • Twilio β€” SMS confirmations and driver alerts, where SMS is enabled.
  • Google Cloud β€” hosting for the website and booking system.

Your assigned chauffeur sees the details needed to complete the ride: your name, phone number, the addresses, passenger count, flight number and any special requests. They do not see your email address or what you paid.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and dispute-resolution purposes.

Contact-form enquiries are kept so we can answer them and refer back to the conversation.

If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so except where we are required to retain a record β€” a completed and paid booking, for example, forms part of our financial records.

6Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong β€” you can also update your own details from your account.
  • Delete your information, subject to the retention note above.
  • Stop sending you marketing messages. Booking-related messages are not marketing and will continue while you have a ride with us.

California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by those laws. To exercise any right, email admin@bookridesinla.com and we will respond within the time the law allows.

7Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage for things the site needs in order to work: keeping you signed in, remembering a booking in progress, and remembering whether you have dismissed a prompt. These are not advertising cookies.

Google Maps sets its own cookies when the map loads. Stripe sets cookies on the payment step for fraud prevention. Both are necessary for those features to function.

8Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Payment card details never touch our servers. Access to booking data is restricted to staff accounts, and each chauffeur can see only their own assigned rides.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

9Children

Our service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Children travel as passengers on bookings made by an adult.

10Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be notified to account holders by email.

This policy describes our current practices. It is not legal advice, and it should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before you rely on it β€” particularly the retention periods and the California-specific rights, which depend on how the business is registered and operated.
